Coin envelopes (5.6" x 3.0") are used for packaging seeds for research plots, collecting seed samples, and collecting leaf samples in the greenhouse. The project uses approximately 30,000 envelopes each year. A Freehand Envelope Printer was purchased to eliminate the need for printing onto a sticky label and then having to transfer the label onto the coin envelope. The envelope printer accepts a WORD/EXCEL mail merge document saved as a text file. Plot information is printed directly on the envelope. EXCEL can be used to sort the plot information into the desired output order prior to the mail merge into WORD.
